Give Someone Their Home Back
This is a harder gift to give well than most people expect. So this page is mostly about how to give it without it landing wrong.

Why It Works At All
A person who cannot accept help will often accept a gift.
That sounds like a small distinction. It is not. We have watched it unlock situations that had been stuck for a decade, because let me pay for this asks nothing of somebody’s pride, and you need help asks a great deal.

The Mistake To Avoid
The same card can be heard as I love you and I want to make this easier, or as your house is a disgrace and everyone has been talking about it.
Identical card. Completely different afternoon. The difference is almost never the gift itself, it is how it gets raised.
What Tends To Work
Give it for a reason that is not the house. A birthday, a move, a knee replacement coming up, help getting ready for company.
Offer it as practical help rather than as a verdict. I booked a crew for a day, tell me when suits lands very differently from I think you need this.
Let the person keep control. Tell them nothing leaves without their say-so, because that is the fear underneath most refusals, and it happens to be true.
And give them a way to decline without a scene. Our cards do not expire and nobody chases anyone.
What Tends To Fail
Presenting it in front of the family at a holiday. Attaching a deadline. Framing it as an intervention. Arranging it and telling them a crew arrives Tuesday.
How To Set One Up
Call and say what you want to cover. Any amount works, whether that is a full cleanout, a single room, or a contribution toward a bigger job.
The card goes out however suits you, printed or by email. It does not expire. The person calls when they are ready.
If you would rather they never see a figure, we do it that way. Many families prefer the person simply hears that it is taken care of.
It Covers
A full hoarding cleanout, a single room, an estate cleanout after a death, deep cleaning, biohazard work, or ongoing maintenance cleaning afterward so things stay manageable.
For Congregations And Organizations
We work with churches, synagogues, service clubs and community groups helping a member discreetly. We can invoice the organization directly and keep the recipient’s name out of any minutes, newsletter or bulletin.
Confidentiality protects the people who paid as much as the person who was helped.
