Ways to Pay for This

Kitchen buried in clutter before our crew arrived

Ways to Pay for This

Cost is why most people wait. Worth knowing: waiting is rarely free.

A leak that runs another winter, animal waste that reaches the subfloor, a town notice that turns into a fine. The job usually costs more in March than it would have in September.

So here is every route we know of.

Kitchen restored and sanitized after cleanup

Start With The Cheapest Option: Do Less

You do not have to empty the house.

We can clear the safety-critical rooms now and leave the rest. Often that is a third of the total cost and removes eighty percent of the actual danger. Come back to the rest in two months, or next year, or never.

Each phase is quoted and paid on its own, and you can stop after any of them.

Then Look For Money You Already Have

Your homeowners policy. Check before assuming there is nothing, particularly where a death, water damage, a sewage backup or another covered event sits underneath the clutter. Landlords should look at their policy too. We provide whatever documentation an adjuster asks for.

What is inside the house. Connecticut houses hold real antiques. Furniture, tools, books, silver and jewelry can offset a serious share of the bill. We will hold anything you want appraised before it moves.

Donation receipts, itemized and in your name, which may matter at tax time.

Then Public And Community Routes

CHCPE. Connecticut’s program does cover chore assistance, which many states have nothing like. Genuinely worth pursuing. See our CHCPE page.

Veterans’ benefits. Aid and Attendance and Veteran Directed Care both put money in a household’s hands. Connecticut has veterans’ service officers across the state.

Area Agencies on Aging, which hold small discretionary funds outside Medicaid.

Town social services. Connecticut runs a lot through towns rather than counties, and some town departments have genuine resources. CT 2-1-1 is a good front door.

Then Split It Or Spread It

Family contributions. Siblings dividing a cleanout is how a great many of these get paid for. We can invoice separately so nobody is collecting money from their own family, and we can take payment from someone who does not own the house. See gift cards.

Payment plans. We can arrange financing on larger jobs. The application takes a few minutes and nobody else inspects the house. Ask and we will explain plainly what it costs, because a plan you did not understand is not help.

What We Will Not Do

Take a large deposit before seeing the property. Quote low and raise it once the crew is inside. Or sell you a bigger scope than you need, which in this trade is the easiest money there is.
