About Connecticut Hoarding

People ask us the same handful of things about the company before they hire us. Here they are, answered plainly.

Who Actually Owns This?

Kristin does. It is family-run and woman-owned, and she still answers the phone herself.

She started it after meeting too many people who had been handled as a problem to process rather than a person having the worst year of their life. She has stood in more hallways than she could count.

Are You Actually Local?

Yes, and it matters more than it sounds. We work in this state every week. We know which towns have narrow colonial staircases, which transfer stations take what, and how damp a New England cellar gets by August.

Are You Insured?

Full liability coverage and workers’ compensation. Ask and we will send certificates before you commit to anything. An uninsured crew is cheaper right up until someone gets hurt in your house and it lands on your homeowners policy.

Who Are Your Customers?

Teachers, nurses, machinists, veterans and a retired judge, among others.

Nobody plans for a house to fill. It happens to people who bury a spouse, break a hip, lose work, or fall into a depression nobody around them noticed. Treating that as a character flaw helps no one.

What Do You Refuse To Do?

  • Photograph a customer’s home for our advertising
  • Post before-and-after pictures online, which is startlingly common in this trade
  • Tell your family what we found, unless you ask us to
  • Pressure anyone about their own belongings
  • Raise a written price after the crew is inside

Why Do This Work At All?

Because of the end of it.

A woman in Hartford had her sister over for coffee, first time in seven years. A man outside New London let his grandchildren through the front door again.

That is the actual product. The hauling is just how you get there.
